Bringing Glory To The Holy Spirit! – The Impact He’s Had On My Life

by Kayla Kennada

Reading the Bible has always been a delight to me. It opens my blinded eyes to new life changing ideas, purpose, and understanding of who God is and who He made me to be. Had I not come to Jesus, my life would not have been nearly as full and rewarding as it is.

The more I read the Word, the more I see how much Father loves us. His plan for our lives is for our good, not our harm. He said through the Prophet Jeremiah in 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” It is disheartening to see so many people following their own plan for their lives. Without His plans they miss out on so much that the Holy Spirit has to offer.

I’ve come a long way

A longtime friend I had not talked to in many years contacted me recently. She knew me from before I came to Jesus. After following me on social media, she said that I’ve come a long way since then. She also said that she is so proud of me. All I could think of was that I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He is the glory and the lifter of my head (Psalms 3:3).  In looking back, I can see that all I did was allow myself to be available for Him to use me and to be led by Him.

I trusted that He loved me and had a better plan for me. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that I’d be a minister, an author, a singer, a prophet, and more. But His Word says when you are faithful in the small things He will put you in charge of much (Luke 16:10, 19:17; Matthew 25:23).

I made myself available

My passion has always been to volunteer to do whatever the church needed. Over the years, I have cleaned the church, worked the nursery, and taught children’s church. I also taught Sunday school, participated in plays, choirs, and puppet shows. In addition, I wrote newsletters, worked in the office, and much more. I now lead praise and worship, prophesy, and do so many things I never knew I could do. To this day, I am still learning and growing.

All glory to the Holy Spirit

My purpose for writing this is to bring glory to the Holy Spirit! It is He who has done exceedingly, abundantly above all that I asked or thought, according to the power that works in me (Ephesians 3:20).  I have no special education. My grades were barely average in high school. My family life was a mess and so was I. So, when I look back at what the Lord has done in and through me I can honestly say that all I’ve done is because of Him. I could never have done these things without Him and I’m so grateful for His presence in my life.

He is faithful!

Psalms 34:8 says “taste and see that the Lord is good.” Psalms 37:4 says “delight yourself in Him and He will give you the desires of your heart.” He has surely shown Himself faithful to me. He will show Himself faithful to you too. It’s never too late. Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
